Once again, the decision not to indict a police officer for the death of an unarmed black man calls our grand jury system into question. We here at HR have already extensively commented on the Eric Garner case ( see previous posts using the search term "Fat Albert" ) but this latest outrage makes it clear as the mighty Mississippi in Mississippi: reform grand juries NOW!
My modest proposal: impanel a national group to hear all such cases. Maybe pick members from Kansas, Kentucky and Kalamazoo and give jurors a high title such as Grand Wizard or Grand Dragon. Let them continue to meet in secret, perhaps in log cabins covered in white sheets or wooded areas with large bonfires. Then let God in all His Glory lead them to the Light.
I can't breathe through the chokehold these dark forces have on our system. Know justice, know peace. My heart particularly bleeds for all the white families deprived of their breadwinner one day a week as they waste their otherwise profitable time hearing these obvious cases. Don't try and sell me a cigarette, steal me a cigar or even buy me some Skittles. Just follow my law enforcement instruction to the letter or die. What could possibly be wrong with that?
