What's all the hubbub about Coach Mike Rice's coaching style?  So he threw a few basketballs at players, pushed a few others and cussed a little. This is all necessary when your team sucks as bad as RUTGERS.

Rutgers went 15-16 this season and didn't make the NCAA tournament. While a record like that may be acceptable at a football school like the University of Texas, this is a total failure by the RUTGERS players and they rightfully deserve any punishment they get.

I mean, it isn't like they were forced to build the pyramids in Egypt, made to wander the desert for 40 years or drag a cross up a hill where they were crucified.  Actually, those may have been more fitting punishments for such a poor performance. This group of nappy-headed hos don't know suffering like my people do.  Oh, wait a second, it's the RUTGERS women's basketball team that are the nappy-headed hos.  My bad - thank you Don Imus.

In simple drills, the RUTGERS  players showed an ineptitude only matched by the Washington Generals, the team that gets beat regularly by the Harlem Globetrotters.

We were taught as young Jews trying to make the under six foot team at the JCC in the Bronx that no matter how fast the basketball is thrown at you, you have to be able to catch it. If you don't catch the ball, you don't make the JCC team.  Why should a college program like RUTGERS be any different?

I can only hope that their new coach hits each snitch player in the head giving them a concussion and then he locks them all in a shed. Now that's effective coaching and may lead to a winning season next year. - Rabbi Morty

The issue here is not whether Coach Rice broke a few rules, or took a few liberties with his male player guests — he did.  But you can't hold a whole athletic program responsible for the behavior of a few, sick perverted individuals. For if you do, then shouldn't we blame the entire NCAA basketball system? And if the whole NCAA basketball system is guilty, then isn't this an indictment of our educational institutions in general? I put it to you, Learned Reader: Isn't this an indictment of our entire American society? Well, you can do what you you want to Coach Rice, but those of us  at Houston Republican are not going to sit here and listen to you badmouth the United States of America!
